Establishment · Nurturing of Corporate R&D Centers

We help establish and nurture Corporate R&D Centers by receiving the
consignment from the government and operating the report and management
system for Corporate R&D Centers and R&D departments.

The nearly 44,000 Corporate R&D Centers in Korea are the key subject of national R&D.

    • Increased R&D Centers : 1,000 institutes (1991) → 24,000 institutes (2011) → 44,000 institutes (2021).
    • The total R&D cost is KRW 73.6 trillion (2020), accounting for 79.1% of the total R&D investment in Korea.
    • The total number of researchers is 401,000 (2020), occupying 71.9% of the total R&D manpower in Korea.

The Korean government is providing tax benefits, funds, manpower, etc. to Corporate R&D Centers.

    • Tax deduction for R&D personnel development cost, duty exemption for R&D goods, etc.
    • Granting of requirements for participating in national R&D projects, support with additional preference points, etc.
    • Specialized researcher program for supporting researchers for SMEs, etc.
